Manngarre rainforest walk

Discover iconic creatures and lush monsoon rainforest on these three short loop walks beside the East Alligator River.

Close to Manbiyarra (Border Store), Cahills Crossing viewing platform and Merl campground, and a short drive from Ubirr, these walks are great for families, those on a tight schedule, and anyone wanting to escape the heat of the day.

The first (shortest) loop is also wheelchair accessible.

Wildlife

Shelter from the heat of the day beneath the cool, shady leaves, and discover flying foxes, spectacular golden orb spiders, orange-footed scrub fowl and exotic rainbow pitta.

There’s also a great view of the East Alligator River which is ideal for croc-spotting.
