The Twin Falls plateau walk is a great addition to the itinerary for anyone looking for a challenging day walk. It’s a steep ascent to the top of the escarpment through the rugged Stone Country typical of the Arnhem Land plateau.

The marked bushwalk leads through rugged sandstone outcrops and shady rainforests with enormous anbinik trees before reaching the lookout above Twin Falls.

It’s no exaggeration to say this walk will take your breath away.

Follow the creek further upstream to have a refreshing dip in the rock pools before returning to the car park.

Heat stress and dehydration are very real dangers here. Take simple steps to keep you and your family safe. Temperatures are considered extreme once it reaches 36 degrees Celsius or above.

Carry and drink at least one litre of water per person per hour.
