On 28 March 2025 the government assumed a Caretaker role. Information on websites maintained by Parks Australia will be published in accordance with the Guidance on Caretaker Conventions until after the conclusion of the caretaker period.

The Kakadu Tourism Master Plan is a 10-year strategy to grow culturally appropriate tourism in the national park and was developed in consultation with Kakadu’s Traditional Owners, Board of Management and the tourism industry.

Parks Australia will continue to work with Kakadu’s Traditional Owners, and in consultation with key stakeholders, to ensure the successful delivery of the plan in a culturally and environmentally appropriate way.
