Gunlom closed to visitors from 19 October
The seasonal closure of the Gunlom visitor site, including the campground, walking tracks and upper pool, will close to visitors on Sunday 19 October at 3 pm.
Seasonal closures are an important part of visitor safety management, with extreme heat and changing conditions increasing risks in remote areas of the park.
For visitors travelling to Gunlom this week, a reminder that the lower pool is closed for visitor safety and that extreme heat conditions are forecast to continue. As the seasons change, there is an increased risk of crocodile movement and we remind visitors to always Be Crocwise when visiting Kakadu.
Plan ahead to beat the heat and follow our tips for Staying Safe.
