Kakadu National Park billabong closures
Four billabongs in Kakadu National Park are now closed for the season, with recent heavy rains making them inaccessible.
Four Mile Hole, Red Lily (Djunda), Alligator (Gurdurunguranjdju) and Bucket (Ngarrababa) billabongs are now closed for the wet season (Kudjewk). They are expected to reopen to the public in April-May 2026.
Other parts of Kakadu remain open and accessible during the wet season, including Ubirr, Burrungkuy (Nourlangie), and Yellow Water (Ngurrungurrudjba).
Before visiting the park, please check the Kakadu Access Report for the latest information on seasonal and other site closures.
