Seasonal closure of Jim Jim Falls and Karnamarr Campground
Jim Jim Falls and Karnamarr Campground will close for the season from 6 pm this Sunday 2 November, due to continuing extreme heat conditions and forecast thunderstorms.
These annual closures are an important part of keeping visitors safe and protecting the park’s natural and cultural values.
Rising water levels, changing track conditions and reduced access make these areas unsafe to visit during the coming months.
Visitors can continue to enjoy other areas of Kakadu that remain open, with plenty of opportunities to experience the park’s landscapes, wildlife and cultural sites throughout the months ahead.
