Gungurul campground
One of Kakadu’s quietest campgrounds, Gungurul boasts an abundance of wildlife.
The rare red goshawk is one of the birds you might be lucky enough to spot while camping or walking in the area.
There is a 4 km walk and climb from the campsite to a lookout showcasing views of the South Alligator valley – allow 2 to 3 hours for the walk and ensure you’ve got a camera and binoculars!
Gungurul is about 58 km from Cooinda.
