Ubirr rock art & sunset experience
Join Traditional Owner Natasha Nadji on an unforgettable journey to witness some of the finest x-ray rock art paintings.
Discover the deep cultural stories of law, land, and heritage that have shaped the Bininj/Mungguy people for thousands of years.
After exploring the stunning rock art sites, enjoy a short 250m climb to a rocky lookout with breathtaking 360° views of Arnhem Land and the Nadab floodplain at sunset.
Please meet your guide at the shelter inside the Ubirr walk which is located next to the carpark.
Remember to bring plenty of drinking water, proper walking shoes, sun protection, hat and insect repellent. We also suggest binoculars and camera.
Distance: 1 km loop track around main gallery, plus short climb to sunset lookout
Grade: Easy to moderate
Accessibility: The area around the main art site is flat and accessible to wheelchairs.
Optional: Bring along some snacks and make it a sunset picnic. Sit back and watch the magic of nature as the sun sets between 6.20 - 6.35 pm. For cultural reasons, alcohol is not permitted at Ubirr.
