Kakadu Bird Week
From 24–28 September, Kakadu National Park is celebrating Bird Week. Five unforgettable days of expert-led walks, birdwatching cruises, talks and cultural demonstrations.
Home to more than a third of Australia’s bird species, Kakadu is a bird lover’s paradise. It’s the perfect place to discover and learn about the unique birdlife of this magical part of the world, which is dual World Heritage-listed for both its natural and cultural values.
Kurrung season is a great time to visit Kakadu — expect hot weather, fewer crowds and more wildlife.
Drop in to the Bowali Visitor centre for free demonstrations, bush food cook ups, workshops and kids’ activities. Take the opportunity to walk alongside Binning/Mungguy and learn how birds are woven into language, stories and daily life - from sunrise tours to sunset storytelling. Or, simply bring your binoculars and explore at your own pace.
More events will be added below as details become available.
