Bird carving painting

Talented artist, painter, carver Dale Austin will guide you through the process of finishing and painting your own take home bird carving. 

Dale Austin lives in Darwin but spent a lot of his childhood in Kakadu with his father, he has connections with Bininj (Western Arnhemland/Kakadu) and Ngurrungurrdjba Country (Yellow Water). 

Participants will get opportunity to prep & paint their own bird carving learning about the wood, ochre, paint brushes & the cultural significance to Bininj/Mungguy.

• Marrawuddi-sea eagle
• Alwandjuk-emu
• Kurrwirluk-curlew
• Berrebberreb-rainbow bee eater
• Ngalkordow-brolga
• Jagarna-black necked stalk
