The Connecting Kakadu project is delivering improved mobile coverage across the park, enabling visitors to make calls, access maps and share their experiences in real-time while exploring Kakadu’s popular campgrounds and walking tracks.
The project is nearing completion with improved coverage now available at:
- Gunlom campground
- Gungurul
- Mary River Ranger Station
- Northern Information Bay (Arnhem Highway)
- Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) (near the Nourlangie rock art site)
- Maguk Campground (2 km from Maguk Gorge Waterfall).
The project is due for completion in early 2026.
